Resurrection #4 Comin’ Up!

October 24, 2010

Calling on David Goodwin, drummer extraordinaire and former RockAmerica drummer from the first incarnation, to fill in for my band The Message last Tuesday. Knowing Dave likely hadn’t ever heard any of the The Message songs, other than 45 second snippets on our website, I was pleasantly surprised.

Only two drummers have ever so impressed me over the past 40 years of playing Rock/Pop/Spiritual music. The reason those drummers impressed me is by their ability to jump in on music with which they are unfamiliar, and still not miss a punch or a stop, or a crescendo. Mr. Goodwin did that for The Message last Tuesday. I was impressed and pleased and grateful that he was willing to come on a few hours notice.

I met this morning with Michael Bryant, another former band member from the 1970′s and recording/producing partner from the 1980′s on some original recording projects. Michael and I share a love for vocal harmonies and have been entertaining this possibility of joining together again with drummer Dave Goodwin to see what we might do musically here in the New Millenium.

We will see. I’m excited. Time will tell. Don Cobb out.

From 1975 till 2010, RockAmerica Still Rocks America!

Don Cobb @ The Light Concert House

RockAmerica was founded in 1975 by Don Cobb. Several transformations later, RockAmerica is still churning out original Rock/Pop even now, as Don & Co. forge ahead with their latest CD project.

Over the years such monumental talents as lead guitarist “Awesome” Bruce Austin, author/songwriter Buzzy Martin and keyboardist Jeff Goodlund have graced the stage with RockAmerica. Currently former RockAmerica drummer David Goodwin has rejoined the band, with long-time recording project partner Michael Bryant on guitar and vocals.

Expect much. RockAmerica is going to continue to rock America!
